Beyond the Switch 2 Pro Controller: How Mobapad Chitu 2 & the TMR Glide Stick Redefine Precision

Hello everyone. I’m Zhongkai Zhang.

For years, Mobapad has been obsessed with one thing: solving the subtle frustrations that ruin a good gaming session. We believe that the sincerest way to respect a gamer is to hand them a tool that disappears in their hands, leaving only the game.

Back in June 2025, when we finally got our hands on the Nintendo Switch Pro2 controller, the atmosphere in our lab was electric. While the world focused on the jump from six-axis to nine-axis motion sensing, our team was fixated on something else entirely: the joystick.

We unanimously agreed that Nintendo had fundamentally reshaped the geometry of control. But we also saw a chance to perfect it.

Deconstructing the Genius: Nintendo’s Design

Nintendos approach to the Pro2s glide stick was brilliant in its logic. They utilized a "Limit Structure + Silicone Rail + Inverted Hook" system. Here is what that actually means for your thumbs:

· No More Grinding: By lowering the limit height, the stick shaft no longer grinds against the faceplate. That annoying plastic dust? Gone.

· The Silicone Rail: They added a soft silicone ring at the base. Because the material is elastic, the contact point is minimized. The stick cap doesn’t drag; it glides.

· The Inverted Buckle: The stem and cap are locked together with an internal hook design, solving the age-old issue of caps loosening over time.

It is a design that turns control into a tactile pleasure. But at Mobapad, "good" is just the starting line.

The Mobapad Evolution: Introducing the TMR Glide Stick

We took Nintendo’s foundation and pushed the material science further. With the Mobapad Chitu 2, we represent a proprietary evolution of this technology, tailored to meet distinct user needs.

1. From Silicone to Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR)

While the Nintendo Pro2 uses standard silicone, we upgraded the rail to LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber). This isn’t just a fancy acronym. LSR allows for micron-level molding precision. We achieved a contact point of just 0.01mm.

· The Result: It is self-lubricating and far more durable than standard silicone. The friction isn't just low; it feels like it doesn't exist.

2. Custom-Tuned TMR Sensors

We didn't just grab an off-the-shelf sensor. We customized the TMR (Tunnel Magnetoresistance) module to address specific efficiency gaps in the Nintendo Pro2.

· The Result: Higher sampling precision with lower power consumption. Our R&D team also re-engineered the damping parameters. The resistance is lighter, 'creamier,' and ultra-smooth.

TMR Glide Stick

We call this the "Air-Touch" sensation. The moment you push the stick, mechanical resistance vanishes. It is a zero-contact, zero-wear structure designed to eliminate drift permanently.

The Challenge of the Motor

Let’s be transparent about HD rumble. The linear motor inside the Switch 2 is fully patented by Nintendo and is not available to third-party manufacturers. Currently, no generic off-the-shelf motor can replicate it.

We refused to settle for a standard "buzzer." Mobapad has assembled a dedicated R&D team, partnering with core engineers from original ALPS motor division. We are aggressively developing our own linear motor solution (Version 2.0) to bridge this gap. We are building it ourselves because no one else sells it.

Mobapad Chitu 2: Which Version is For You?

We know gamers are currently in a transition period between consoles. The Mobapad Chitu 2 lineup is designed to bridge the gap between the first-generation Nintendo Switch and the new Switch 2.

Mobapad Chitu 2

Mobapad Chitu 2 Pro2-HD (The Bridge)

· Best for: Gamers who want the new ergonomics on their current Switch 2 console.

· Tech: Uses the Gen-1 Switch protocol for maximum compatibility but features our upgraded grip, buttons, and the new TMR Glide Stick.

Mobapad Chitu 2 Pro2-S & Pro2-Ultra (The Next Gen)

· Best for: Hardcore Switch 2 users.

· Tech: Built on the Gen-2 protocol. These are mechanical controllers designed for peak performance and silence.

· The Experience: Born for immersion. 1000Hz polling rates, mechanical tactile buttons, and the full TMR Glide Stick experience.

We are incredibly proud of the Chitu 2. It represents not just an upgrade, but a new standard for third-party controllers in China.

Thank you for playing with us.
